The wave times for the Tri 4 School's Kid's Mud Run are published! Check them out here!

“Madison’s Dirtiest Race” is back this May and the theme this time is Pajama Party! This race is the most fun you can have running almost 5 miles. How “tough” is it? It is as tough as you want it to be. The course is designed for everyone.  Perfect for recreational runners competing in their first 5 mile race and still challenging enough to the semi-professional athlete. This event has something for everyone to enjoy.

Packet Pick-Up:

We will again be having early packet pick up, at Quaker Steak and Lube Middleton.

Packet pick up will start at 2PM and will end at 6PM on Saturday May 18th, at QSL Middleton.  Please plan on packet pick up not opening until 2 and closing at 6, our registration staff will not have the materials to hand out packets if you come early.

You can also pick your packet up on the morning of the race at registration from 7:30 AM-11:00 AM. Please plan on being at the race no less than 1 hour before your wave to give yourself ample time to get settled before your wave begins!

Because of the long lines at early packet pick up (we hate making you wait), and our inability to track packets once they have left our possession, we are CHANGING our policy for packet pick up.

You have 3 options to pick up packets:

1.) You can pick up just your packet.

2.) you can pick up your packet and one other person's packet (we think of this as family style packet pick up)

3.) you can pick up a FULL TEAM'S packets. Partial team pick up won't be allowed, it's all or nothing. If you have a large team we would LOVE to package your team's shirts, meal and drink tickets, bibs and chips ahead of time to speed the pick up process up. Simply email us at raceday@racedayeventsllc.com with the name of the team and we can take it from there!

Obstacles:

We'll have the standard inflatable, a water crossing, the slip n slide and the mud pit, but as you've seen, we like to mix it up each time and throw something new at you each race. What do we have up our sleeve this time? Telling you would make it too easy. We'll unveil some of the new obstacles on our facebook site leading into the race though, so make sure to follow us!

The Madison Mud Run is a Green Event. We have taken special measures to leave little or no impact on the environment while still putting on a great event. Some of the measures that we have taken include:

  • Limited paper form use to cut down on paper waste
  • We leave the park as clean or cleaner than we found it
  • Drop box for recycling running shoes
  • "Arrive Green" (Walk or bike) prizes
  • Recycling containers at the event

Weather/Refund Policy:

The Madison Mud Run will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the race may be delayed or canceled. If the race is canceled there will be NO REFUNDS. Race Day Events has a NO REFUND policy. There are no refunds for any reason.

Start & Finish:

The start/finish will be at Festival Park in Verona, WI. Festival Park is located off Lincoln St. just south of Verona Rd. Please plan to carpool and park in the lots near Festival Park.

Wave Starts:

To prevent crowding at obstacles, participants will start in waves. The competitive waves will be capped at 60 participants/wave. The recreational waves have been increased to 90 participants to more easily accommodate teams, and we've added some earlier recreational waves so you can get your race done sooner! Waves will start 7 minutes apart. You MUST specify the wave you want to start in when you register. The wave you select WILL BE the wave you are entered in, and the one in which you will start.

The first wave starts at 9AM. Here's how the waves breakdown:

  • Wave 1: All Police/Fire/EMS and Military members
  • Waves 2-4: competitive runners looking to place in their age group or as the fastest overall team
  • Waves 5-6: Women only. These waves are dedicated to the ladies. Teams in these waves are allowed to be women only.
  • Waves 7-30:recreational runners looking to have a good time and get DIRTY!

You will NOT be able to "jump" waves the day of the race. You MUST race in the wave you are registered for or else you will be disqualified. Disqualified runners will not be eligible for awards and they will not get an official time. We experienced bottlenecks due to some waves getting really big in previous events and appreciate your cooperation in helping us prevent these by racing in the wave you registered for.

Course:

The course uses the grass and dirt trails found in and around Festival Park and Badger Prairie Park. The course has rolling hills and fun obstacles including: water crossings, tire runs, wall climbs, tunnel crawls, inflatable obstacles, and the famous mud pit. It will be impossible to stay clean. The course will be challenging enough for the elite but still manageable for beginners. Please Note: There is a 2 hour 30 minute time limit to complete the course.

Parking:

Please park in the lots to the east of the Eagle's Nest, the City Hall parking lot, or the Little League fields. There is parking on the grass at Festival Park, but you must stay for the duration of the race if you park in Festival Park. Please do NOT park in the Verona Police parking lot. Parking in areas marked "No Parking" will result in the city ticketing or towing your car.

Aid Station:

There will be one aid station offering water half way through the course.

Medical:

First Aid and Medical support will be provided by FitchRona EMS. Please thank them. Several of the FitchRona Paramedics will be racing with you as well.
